Customizable Help Tab

The Help tab is great for when a user needs assistance with the lab technology itself, but many users confuse that with how to get help from the course developers. I would like to be able to separate the help tab into two sections: One for Course assistance and one for Skillable assistance. The course assistance section would be customizable by the developers and be empty by default, which would keep the tab looking the same until customized.


This custom section would allow us to provide built in Help for our users and hopefully route users away from Skillable Support when they are not the right place to go.

    Thank you for the additional information. The only way currently to do what you are asking for is to setup a custom Theme and Script to modify this for your Organization. Then attach that theme to the specific lab profiles you want changed with the new Help page details.

    Yes, I am aware we can hide the Help tab, but that tab is still useful for our users when the issue is on the Skillable side (rare that it is).

    And yes, we do have a section in our labs dedicated to teaching the users where to go to get help, however, the user/student would have to backtrack through the course to go back to that section, as opposed to having a Help tab always available.

    Thank you for the additional comment here. Did you know that you can hide the help tab? There is a setting on the Advanced tab of the lab profile and this will hide the Help tab from showing.


    That being said it might be an approach to add a section in the instructions for help with courseware. You could then also provide some additional information for the case when and where to call for lab technical issues. This way it is complete control of how users see the information on which help is desired.

    This would be the Help section within the Skillable Studio Lab Client when a user is running a lab.

    Thank you for this idea. Would you please be able to clarify this idea little more? Is this the Help within the Skillable Studio Lab Client when the user runs the lab or are you talking about the Skillable TMS help on the users Top navigation bar?
