When we use the save us option in an existing lab profile, we should have an option to select only the VMs that we need in the new profile. The selected VMs should be added to the new profile as independent clones and the VMs that are not selected should be added as linked clone.
In a lab client, we have the option to select specific virtual machines but the problem with this option is that even if we don't select a VM here, an independent clone of the VM is still created and added to the new profile. Instead it should create a linked clone and add it to the new profile.
These options are useful when you create multiple lab profiles and need to change specific virtual machines and use some VMs as they are with the ability to propagate changes effectively.
Consider an example of a software firewall. If the VM that is running as a software firewall is added as an independent clone to 100+ profiles and if you change firewall rules, you will have to change it on each VM profile manually.
