Right now, each individual student can only have one lab environment running at a time. If they try to open a second lab, they get an error message (or, if the lab is iframed via LTI, just a blank screen).
I would like to have the option to automatically terminate the previous lab in order to start the new one, instead of making the student go back to the previous lab to do it.

What is the problem you are trying to solve?
The UX for students accessing Skillable labs from our LMS is confusing. The lab is opened via LTI in an iframe in the LMS. The LMS has a "Close" button to close the iframe, but of course, that does not end the lab in Lab On Demand. Therefore, we're having to do a lot of education for students on how to properly end the lab in the LOD interface before clicking Close in the LMS interface, because otherwise, they won't be able to start the next lab. It would be great to be able to skip that and have the first lab silently end itself when a new lab is requested, rather than having an error message or a blank screen. |
