Limit the amount of retries when making a question in the instructions.

When creating questions in the instructions for a lab there is an option to allow retries, but it allows unlimited retries which essentially makes the question a guessing game without penalty and thus highly reduced effectiveness. There should be an option to allow 1 or 2 retries only.

Who would most benefit from this idea? Lab Developers or Lab Authors
What is the problem you are trying to solve?

Allowing for some more accountability when having questions to evaluate learners in the lab. This allows for a more flexible assessment that is between high stakes and no stakes.

I think that looks great! I could see customers asking that it be an open field outside of unlimited though...

just an extra thought about this idea it would be great if retries could be linked to the score as well. For example if a number of points could be entered which would be deducted from the total points for this question based on each attempt. For example a question could be worth 20 points and it is configured that each retry would deduct 5 points from each attempt. For this to work effectively we might need an option which also blocks the ability to retry a question if it has been answered correctly.

Eric G. Yes! I believe that would work well for this request.

My understanding on this one is this should be selectable per question. So if there is a lab that has 12 questions each one could have this option. A client may have 5 questions that they want to set with unlimited retries and 7 others where they want to control the qty som some might be 1 and others may be 2 or 4 retries etc...

I have created a mockup and would like to ask if this captures what you are asking in the request. Would you be able to comment further if this is would work?
